Rob8 the robot is good at dividing and adding.
Give Rob8 a number and he will divide it and add something to it over and over again.
For example, start with 37 and divide by 5 and add 1.
Rob8 will carry out these calculations:

37 4 5 + 1 = 8.4
8.4 45 + 1 = 2.68
2.68 45 + 1 = 1.536
1.536 45 + 1 = 1.3072
1.3072 4 5 + 1 = 1.26144

Rob8 will keep going until the same number keeps appearing.

Try other starting numbers, does it matter what number you start with?
Divide by 4 instead of dividing by 5, what difference does that make?
Input any number and predict what will come out.
A little knowledge of the equivalence of decimals and fractions is needed.

Here's what to do:

1. Use Rob8's 'eyes' to change what Rob8 divides by and what he adds on. Change functions
2. Use these buttons to input the number. Input buttons
3. Click on the 'input' button. Rob8 will move into action. Input number button
4. Record your results in the table then click on 'new number'.
5. Zoom in on the table by clicking on it. Click again to zoom out. Table of results
